The Manitou Branch of the South Central Regional Library serves the residents and communities of the Municipality of Pembina.
It offers many resources and services which are all free with a library card (also free for the residents of the Municipality of Pembina) They include:
- Books and magazines for children, young adults and adults
- Large Print, Audio Book and Playaway collections.
- Services for print disabled patrols, such as NNELS (National Network for Equitable Library Access)
Many online services can be accessed via our website www.scrl.mb.libraries.coop including:
- EbscoHOST (great for homework research)
- Free ebook downloads via Manitoba eLibraries
- Kanopy (free movie and documentary streaming service)
- Tumble Books for Kids (an online collection of animated picture books, educational videos and games)
Inter-library loan services - If we don't have the book you are looking for we can often bring it in from one of our other four branches or another library in Manitoba, usually within a few days.
Manage your account online via our website - you can renew books and also request books from any one of our five branches and opt to have them delivered to Manitou or another branch.
The Library also has a beautiful, spacious children's area where children and families can read a book, explore their creativity with our craft supplies, games and puzzles, and attend programs that we run throughout the year.
Another unique feature is our Reading/Rain Garden to the rear of the library, a relaxing community space where we offer programs and activities that combine literacy and nature, where patrons can relax and read a book, have a picnic lunch or just sit back and smell the lilacs!
